I’m Off To Mexico: Here’s What’s In My Bag

Posted In: Travels

I have recently partnered with Loop as their Digital Media Partner to bring about a series of wanderlust and travel inspiration over the next couple of weeks.

My 2017 adventures are only a few days away with Mexico being first on the list and I couldn’t be any more excited. It will be my third time exploring the country. As a destination preview, I will be sharing, “What’s in My Bag.” This will be my first post of the kind, so, I wasted no time in spilling the contents on the floor to showcase what’s really on the inside…. and what I will be taking along with me.

As a travel blogger, I must make mention that my bag is somewhat like a small portable office space filled with small travel gadgets rather than… you know everyday girly products.

I’m always on the go, so there are certain things I carry around all the time. Like my MacBook Pro, my SkyroamAnywhere you travel wifi-hotspot”‘, and my 1ByOne portable charger pack. I could go on and on…. but I will make mention of the rest below.

Whats’s Really In My Bag?

I try to keep my bag free of receipts, little bits of paper and… well, melted chocolates that I often forget that’s there. However, I do want to admit that taking my laptop around with me all the time, in addition to my earphones and charger cables can result in a tangled mess. Though it does get the job done, nothing beats that.

I think of one my favourite non-electronic items in my bag is my travel journal. It comes in so handy when I am eating out at restaurants or waiting at the airports. I also recently picked up a Kindle Fire, it’s lightweight and convenient. As a solo traveller, I do get a bit of time to read in between waiting times. Also, my kindle is now my favourite new company when dining out alone.

Some Things Are Gifted

A friend of mine gave me a colouring book for Christmas. Okay, maybe you will think this is a little corny but colouring is somewhat like yoga, except for the physical stretches. It is said to be a stress reliever and very therapeutic. It is perfect for my long haul flights (in-flight entertainment), train rides. Currently, I am using it at nights to wind down and cannot wait to take it along with me on my travels in Mexico.

I love options when it comes on to watches. I recently received these two over the holidays: Daniel Wellington & Shore Projects. Being away from home for extensive about of times; somewhere in my bag, there is an extra.

With just a few days away from my first 2017 adventure, you are sure to find a pair a sunglasses, a BlokRok Sunscreen rub-on and my summer straw hat. (Essential Mexico starter-kit).

Additionally, I’ve been making it a duty to pick up postcards anywhere to I go. This is probably a dated thing to do, but, my family and friends do appreciate a few postcards especially the ones with the customised stamps.  I’ll be sure to pick up a few new ones to write up over dinner or as I go along the journey.

I am so glad that you will he heading to my beloved MEXICO! Please buy a phone chip as you get there. Your phone will not work there except in wifi. The chip costs about 100 pesos and I would put another 100 pesos on it so that you can have data etc. Have a great time in my second homeland 🙂

Partnering with Loop is amazing!!! Congrats 🙂 Eagerly await ur Mexico posts. Colouring books r for grown ups too, and even if postcards r dated, they’re as sentimental as the art of letter writing is to me. Would love to receive these as gifts

Shea.. The colouring is not corny at all. I’ve heard it was a good thing to do, so happy you’ve mentioned it here.
